I was 19 when I experienced a traumatic spinal cord injury. I was healing from gunshot wounds and grieving my life as I knew it..
I had faith in God but I had no idea what living life with a disability would look like. I couldn't fathom being able to do the things that I had previously wanted to do and it was scary. It was a little over a year later when I found the Rollettes and was able to attend Rollettes Experience 2019 - thanks to a very generous sponsor. I'll never forget the feeling that I had rolling Into a room with hundreds of women that were just like me. From there I was able to see what life with a disability could look like... I was able to see that I could still live a full life.
Since my first encounter with the Rolletes Foundation I went to college, co-created a non profit, moved to LA, joined the Rollettes Dance Team as a Lil Sis, created a community of lifelong friends, got engaged on the stage at Rollettes Experience, became a mentor for women with disabilities through the Boundless Babe Society, got married, became a mother of two wonderful children, have had a wonderful career for the past three years and more!!
I would love to help support other people in learning that our disabilities change the way we do things but that doesn't mean we can't live great lives and accomplish the things that we want — & your donation can help with that!
Join me in supporting people with disabilities experience life in a new way! Help us provide accessible dance programs, tuition scholarships and funding to expand Rollettes Experience to new cities in 2026!
